UNICEF’s online shop at Lazada will feature various gifts as backpacks and school supplies – real items that have an instant impact on children’s lives

As part of 11.11 Shopping Festival, Lazada will launch- a first-of-its-kind partnership with UNICEF that allows online shoppers to support the welfare of Filipino children. In time for Christmas, UNICEF will have an online shop at Lazada from November 11 to December 31, 2018 where inspired gifts such as backpacks, hygiene kits, and emergency supplies can be donated to children all over the country. These are life-saving and life-changing items which address real needs of children.

Southeast Asia's biggest eCommerce platform Lazada partners with UNICEF in hopes of making giving an integral part of the Filipinos' Christmas shopping experience.

Donations made through the online shop help UNICEF respond to immediate needs of children and families during disasters.

Children in the Philippines face various deprivations such as undernutrition, lack of access to education and poor access to WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene). These challenges are further exacerbated by the natural and man-made disasters that frequent the country. With gifts ranging from P199 to P999, anyone shopping at Lazada can now purchase gifts for these children who need them most.

Lazada is honored to work with UNICEF in helping the underprivileged children of the Philippines. e-Commerce has helped cater to the needs of many underserved Filipinos and our UNICEF partnership allows us to extend this help to those who need it the most. With kids, a little help goes a long way because you're helping build the future, one child at a time. We believe that the Filipino future is bright because of the kids we help today through our platform, said Ray Alimurung, Lazada Philippines CEO.

Through innovative partnerships like this, everyone is given the opportunity to improve the lives of so many children. We appreciate this collaboration with Lazada, said Lotta Sylwander, UNICEF Philippines Country Representative.

Indeed, this year brings so much colors to my life. To kick off my birth month, I joined The Color Run Dream for the benefit of UNICEF held at the SM Mall of Asia grounds, and finished the happiest 5k on the planet. I have been looking forward to this event.

The Color Run Dream is the very first color run in the Philippines brought to us by UNICEF Celebrity Advocate for Children Anne Curtis through her Dream Machine foundation.

I love running to keep myself fit and healthy. But this was no ordinary run at all. It was super fun, colorful and magical!

It brings such a great feeling, more than the fulfillment of reaching the finish line. Getting the unicorn medal meant a lot to me because I know I ran for a cause. I was one of the happy runners!

The 10,200 happy runners were composed of kids and adults (who are kids-at-heart) who all wanted to make a difference in the life of children with disabilities.

Coach Rio (#RunRio) and the beautiful Anne Curtis were both an inspiration to all of us for making this event possible.

They were joined by their celebrity friends including Nico Bolzico, and Anne’s fiancé Erwan Heusaff.

It was truly wonderful to see them all make time despite their busy schedule for this advocacy.

I’m in awe at Anne’s dedication to her #DreamMachinePH to help dreamers achieve their dreams. She’s super admirable!

We were cheering for each other, and it was one of the most amazing things that happened to me.

And obviously to this lovely couple who got engaged during the event.

At first I thought it was just the colors floating in the air, but it’s surely beyond that.

The fun continued in the after party. Every burst of color throws was made more impactful by DJ Tom Taus’ mix. The entire course was dreamy and filled with so much happiness and music. I wish there’ll be another one next year.

All of us can help dreams come true – for the people we know and those we don’t know but we care for. We can extend our love and share our time to those in need in countless ways. Unicorns and rainbows are real!
