Rochelle Rivera: Kids Approved

Kids nowadays are fast thinkers that moms are even rendered speechless with their wittiness.

Another school year has begun and moms will most probably encounter again half-eaten – or worse, untouched – lunchboxes. But kids now are more expressive of their opinion about food. “I don’t like the food,” “It does not look delicious,” “My seatmate’s lunchbox is better,” and so on goes the kids without batting an eyelash when asked about their uneaten, untouched food. Thus, Moms are left with the challenge to look for new ideas to make their kids’ snacks more meaningful, relevant and tasty.

But don’t fret. Moms can now get their hands on a delightful chocolate spread that will magically turn their kids’ mealtime into something they will look forward to every day.

Gardenia Delicia chocolate spread is now available in the market and seriously, it is the stuff dreams are made of! It uses only premium-quality cocoa with unique flavors coming from trusted suppliers from all over the world, which makes Delicia’s flavor truly rich and delectable. Its milkiness makes it a delicious and delightful spread that even kids with discriminating palates will truly love.

Every bite is definitely heavenly and outstandingly delightful. And here’s a better news: Gardenia Delicia is available in two exciting flavors: Hazelnut, which adds an extra nutty twist, or the classic and well-loved Milky Chocolate.

Best of all, Gardenia Delicia Chocolate Spread is reasonably-priced at only P99 for every 200-gram bottle. This makes it a preferred choice for Moms since it won’t put a large dent in their budget. Gardenia Delicia Chocolate Spread is definitely made more affordable compared to other brands in the market.

With Gardenia Delicia, moms now have another option to give more delight to their kids, by spreading delightfully delicious goodness on everything they could get their hands on — bread, pancakes, fruits, oats, and simply whatever their kids wish to munch on. The more creative the meal is, the greater the variety of foods kids eats. Anything with a spread of Gardenia Delicia will always be a hit!

I spent an afternoon with other mommies of good, wholesome fun with Friso at the Wholesome Table in BGC on Thursday, February 15.

Hosted by Joy Mendoza, creator of TeachWithJoy.com and a believer of Friso Four, the “Friso Four LockNutri Workshop” served as a delightful post-valentine treat which included herb gardening activity and bento-making.

Tanya Pico, Marketing Services Manager for Friso together with Leigh Formoso, Friso Four Brand Manager, kicked off the event by introducing the brand. Friso is a brand from FrieslandCampina, a company that provides millions of consumers, in over 100 countries, with nutrient-rich food products. 100% packed and produced in the Netherlands, Friso is present in over 25 countries.

Additionally, Leigh puts emphasis on LockNutri Technology, “Since our child’s digestive system is delicate and still developing, nutrients in their natural state are much easier for delicate tummies to digest. LockNutri is our advanced production technology that protects milk protein’s natural nutrient against overheating to retain it closer to its natural state. This means, with LockNutri Technology, Friso nutrient is easy to digest – so that our children will get the nutrients they need.”

Friso Four designed the workshop especially for moms of kids 3 years old and up, in such a way that each activity would help them discover the importance of providing natural nutrition as well as building a stronger digestive system for their little ones.

Giorgio Milano and Mackie Bretaña of Qubo Ph helped moms discover the wonders of herb gardening while highlighting the benefits of having easy access to natural food enhancers that are easy on digestion. Giorgio is a licensed agricultural engineer and Officer-In-Charge for Research & Development for Urban Harvestry Inc. While Mackie, a landscape architect, is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Urban Harvestry Inc., a startup social enterprise dedicated to pushing for urban greenery and agriculture in Metro Manila through the Qubo Garden Kits brand.

Des Labii of Bento Mommas, on the other hand, showed mommies how to level-up their baon-making skills. She implied that not only does bento-making encourages picky eaters to finish their food, but it allows mommies and kids to bond as they prepare the meals together – and at the same time, make sure that they use only natural ingredients. A mother of two boys, her experience as a dialysis nurse in NKTI prompted her to be a vigilant mother when it comes to food preparation, health and nutrition.

After a sumptuous buffet of healthy eats prepared by The Wholesome Table, we received our LockNutri Starter Kits and as they welcomed us to the Friso Four Community with a pledge.

“We aim to empower moms to ‘say no’ to less natural, processed food; and ‘say yes’ to natural ingredients. Because we believe that with your child strong on the inside, they become more resilient and can go on and experience more with you. And that’s what really matters most,” ends Leigh Formoso, Brand Manager of Friso Four Philippines.

Have you tried putting yourself into your child’s shoes? How did it feel like?

In this modern age, our kids are up to different things as compared to what we were exposed to decades ago. The thing is, they are in for a different future in this face of an ever-changing world, too. As parents, we have to be step out of our way, and educate ourselves on the importance of building a strong foundation for our children’s learning abilities.

PROMIL® Four celebrates “Shaping the Gift to Build Tomorrow’s Greats.” And I was very glad to be part of it! The gathering featured expert speakers in the field of Developmental Pediatrics, Clinical Psychology, Obstetrics, Health & Wellness, Arts, and Nutrition, recently at the Sofitel Philippines Plaza Manila in Pasay City. We, the guests, enjoyed the learning workshop so generously prepared by PROMIL® Four with the Philippine Center for Gifted Education (PCGE) as part of this year’s Gifted Awareness Month.

Did you know that the best period to nurture our kids’ abilities lies in the crucial first 1,000 days of their lives, starting with the mother’s pregnancy? This is vital as, during these days, the child reacts and finds their feet on diverse stimuli.

“A child’s development results from an ongoing and cumulative process of nurturing. This means that your child’s brain development can be affected by both environmental and intrinsic factors. With the proper parenting, proper stimulation, and proper nutrition we believe that your child can reach his full potential,” according to Dra. Leticia Penano-Ho, Clinical Psychologist Neurotherapist and President of Philippine Center for Gifted Education.

Dr. Christia Padolina, Ob-gyne, Associate Professor, UERM

This experience was really cool and new for most of us. We were like 5-year olds in the series of activities that aim to address and nourish the 3 Rs - Reasoning, Resilience, and Responsibility.

The first activity was focused on developing the physical aspect in our child’s growth. We had yoga class, and it was epic! As a dynamic meditation activity, we realized how yoga can fuel sensory experiences for children through body movements. It also upholds multi-dimensional learning as it boosts balance and coordination, focus and concentration, mind and body connection, and self-awareness and mindfulness.

Next, our mental activity involved some art works, which target recognition and memory skills. It showed how art can develop memory through storytelling and painting while doing repetitive practices and rhythms. I really loved this part and I’m sure my kids will enjoy this, too!

Last but not the least, we had a giant block game as social activity. This time, we got to interact and work with each other. Imagination, communication and collaboration are strong leadership qualities that our children need to have so that they can be responsible. It was really fun and fruitful!

PROMIL® Four highlights the role of nutrition in supporting a child’s advanced learning activities. Another exciting part? PROMIL® Four partnered with Atlantis Production to showcase the gifts of these talented kids! Get the chance to see Esang De Torres of ABS-CBN’s “The Voice Kids” and “Les Miserables” Asian Tour, Uma Naomi Martin of “A Little Princess”, and Gawad Musika’s Outstanding Child Performer Felicity Kyle Napuli from November 10 to December 10, 2017. Promil Four is raffling out free Matilda tickets, visit www.promilfour-matilda.com for more information.

“Every child has the talent which can be a Gift if discovered and nurtured early. It is the parent’s role to make the child’s talent reach his full potential, or else that gift could just be there untapped and undiscovered.” – Dra. Leticia Penano-Ho.
