Christmas is just around the corner. Indeed, the
Yuletide Season is my favorite simply because we get to spend time with our
family, deepen the spirit of giving in sharing our blessing with others, and celebrate
Jesus Christ even more. Our parties and reunions are spent in a more meaningful
and joyful way. As the song goes, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”
While some of us hold various activities at home, with friends, schoolmates from way back, and relatives from different places; others would plan their much-awaited vacation months before to go someplace else. Either way, we must keep in mind that this season is no different to regular days when it comes to ensuring our safety and security. As we know, we have the longest Christmas season compared to the rest of the world. So, I’d like to discuss some risks and tips to remind us of some important things we might forget when having so much fun.
For years, it’s been observed that fire incidents increase towards the end of the year. I know March is the Fire Prevention Month. However, Fire Prevention is something that we need to practice all throughout the year. I mean, we should practice this constantly. Always think about how mean fire can be when it happens. It’s just devastating. I’m sure you have seen how people suffer from this tragic event on TV or maybe someone that you know experienced it, if you haven’t first hand. *knock on wood*
None of us wouldn’t want to be caught in that dreaded situation, would we? I guess I don’t have to elaborate more on the “why” part. Let’s focus on what we can do to prevent it from happening.

obviously one of the top contributors in the increase of fire incidents during
Christmas season. Just like when were done using our appliance at home, make
sure to unplug the Christmas lights (and other decorations that use
electricity) before the entire household goes to sleep. It’s practical and safe
that way, right? I know we’re all for the display and the perfect Christmas
feel, but I don’t think there’s a need to keep them on overnight. Even though
we are guaranteed that they are of the highest quality, still the risk is
there.
• When you’re planning to spend a few days or the entire week from Christmas to New Year away from home, check if everything is in order. It won’t hurt your time to double check or even triple check, if it means your home is still in good condition (and in one piece) when you get back.

• I love watching
fireworks but have you seen how lethal they can be? I always tell my kids to
get away from them, and we always choose to make noise using other means like
dancing and singing in karaoke. Avoiding all sorts of fire crackers can
absolutely decrease the chance you’ll catch fire and lose your fingers, home
and life. Our merriment is not defined by how expensive and bright our
fireworks are. Ultimately, it’s our togetherness and how we welcome Christ in
our hearts that determine how merry our Christmas would be.

ReplyDeleteSobrang traumatic experience po ung masunugan ka, kc na experience ko n po ito.. using our old LPg, good thing na nagtulong tulong mga neighbors nmin para di sumabog ang lpg, binuhusan po nila ng buhangin, un po ung nkatulong tlga. Salamat po sa tips, i always unplug cord whenever we leave the house
