In 1952, a chemist set out to create a moisturizer that would meet his wife’s requirements. It was from this first collaboration that Olay was born. Since then, Olay has helped women all over the world look and feel their Best Beautiful every day. Olay continues to innovate around the world - not only through breakthrough skin care, but also through a better shopping experience for women.
To continue giving Filipinas a beautiful shopping experience, Olay announces its first collaboration with top Filipino designer Jojie Lloren and its latest skin diagnostic tool, the Olay Beauty Imaging Device.
At Olay, we believe in making every woman look and feel beautiful. This is true for women who use and represent Olay.  Olay Beauty Consultants are an important part of Filipinas’ shopping experience, so it is equally important to us that they are confident and feel beautiful. -Olay Brand Manager Arthur Pena.
Olay is very excited to partner with Jojie Lloren, who is known for his minimalist and elegant designs. His impeccably tailored designs are the perfect complement to beauty that stands the test of the time, Arthur adds.

The first collection for the Olay Beauty Consultants consists of a black coat dress with a silk obi-style belt in Olay’s signature gold, a sophisticated look that enhances the skin care shopping experience for Filipinas. I love their new uniforms!
During the launch, I was able to try the latest in skin care diagnostics, the Olay Beauty Imaging Device (BID).

More compact and precise, the Olay BID will compare the skin conditions of the shopper against a wide database of over 2,000 subjects.

Using the skin probe in key areas that first show signs of skin aging, the skin condition is assessed across five dimensions:

1. skin moisture
2. pigmentation
3. skin texture
4. skin tone
5. wrinkles
Based on the results, Olay Beauty Consultants then recommend a skin care regimen tailored to these needs.

Reveal your #BestBeautiful by visiting your nearest Olay Beauty Consultant.

Do you know that 1 out of 10 Filipina is diagnosed daily with PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome? An imbalance of the hormones estrogen and progesterone that lead to forming of tiny, benign masses on the ovaries, this condition is one of the reasons why most women experience irregular periods, infertility, inexplicable weight gain, harsh breakouts, and insomnia. While there’s still no treatment and the cause is still unknown, PCOS is manageable with the help of an OB-Gyn and a licensed dietitian.

With this in mind, here are some practical tips from Jeunesse Anion Sanitary Napkins and Liner on how to conquer PCOS:

  1. Catch it early. A regular visit to your OB-Gyn will prevent bigger problems. “Follow the old adage prevention is better than cure. “Schedule an annual gynecologic examination with blood sugar test to ensure your hormones are in check”, advises Dr. Faith Suluen.

  1. Stay in shape. “Most of the women who are diagnosed with PCOS are usually overweight, but even if you weigh just right doesn’t mean you’re not prone to developing one”, says Dr. Faith Suluen. “However, since records show that there are numerous cases of PCOS on obese women, it’s strongly recommended to live up a healthy lifestyle that includes exercise and balance diet. Quit smoking immediately and stop other vices if there’s any”, adds Dr. Faith.
  1. Awareness is the key. “While PCOS is not fatal, 50 percent of women with this condition are likely to develop diabetes or pre-diabetes before they reach 40 years old. Sadly, they’re also more prone to having high blood pressure and heart attack because of high levels of LDL or bad cholesterol on top of greater risk of developing sleep apnea, so lifestyle modification and blood sugar maintenance are a must”, notes Dr. Faith. “Remember to never self-medicate and consult your OB-Gyn for prescription of pills that can regulate your period,” she adds.
  1. Your dietitian is your best friend. In addition to your OB-Gyn, the helpful guidance of a licensed dietitian is crucial. “Since weight management and blood glucose control are related to PCOS symptoms, your dietitian will guide you on how to incorporate carbohydrate rich foods but won’t spike blood sugar”, says Philippine-US registered dietitian-nutritionist Cheshire Que. “
  1. Love your body.  While it’s proven that sanitary napkin and liner are non-contributory to PCOS, it pays to look for a brand that does more than just protection. Since Jeunesse Anion is the only napkin and liner with bacteria and odor-reducing anion strip that’s also helpful in easing menstrual discomforts such as cramps and dysmenorrhea, your monthly period becomes more bearable and tolerable. In addition, it’s meticulously made virgin cotton pulp material, non-toxic glue with breathable top and bottom layers that spells peace of mind at its finest. The best part? No more excuses pushing aside movement and workout during your time of the month, lest you forget!

There are days when you know you’ve got your look on point. But admit it, there are some days when you wish your office had a uniform to make things easier in the morning and cut dressing time. So what do you do if your wardrobe and budget are limited and you want to look stylish and polished every day?

Robinsons Department Store offers some tips and hacks on how to look perfect for the workplace:

A well-cut jacket and a patterned pencil-cut skirt, both from Stella, are solid pieces that you can wear in different ways.

Invest in classic pieces and build on the basics: black trousers, crisp white shirts and a stylish cardigan. You can actually live on these but that wouldn’t be very exciting. Use these pieces and accentuate with something that is uniquely you, to create looks that reflect your taste and personality.
Well-fitting clothes enhance your figure and make you look like the young professional you are. Liberté pants, skirts, tops and jackets are always on point in terms of style and fit.
Choose figure-flattering pieces over baggy clothes.Loose-fitting might be comfortable but they don’t look professional. Fit is important. Tight clothes are also a no-no. Look for well-fitting clothes that enhance your figure and make you look like the young professional you are.
You cannot go wrong with black and white, especially with this Stella ensemble. You can pair it with anything, from basic black pumps to the boldest accessories.

Black, white and gray themed separates are perfect if you’re building your wardrobe. The styles are timeless but still on trend. You can get a black pencil skirt and a pair of pants and four tops from Liberté, and you’re all set.
A Stella sleeveless top can be paired with white trousers for a business casual look.

Let your clothes do double duty. You should be able to wear your clothes on and off duty. You don’t want a wardrobe that’s difficult to navigate. Your pieces should be versatile, meaning they can be worn on working and non-working days.

When choosing clothes, keep in mind what you already have. Think about how you can mix and match it with the rest of your clothes.

Include prints in your wardrobe. It’s not just about black, white and gray. A Liberté printed blouse over black pants from Stella would definitely liven up your look and make you stand out in the boardroom. What print to choose? Go for florals or maybe something with graphic prints.

Finish your wardrobe with Liberté bold pieces that accentuate your style.

Camel is a great neutral color that looks classy and expensive. A camel-colored pencil skirt plus a crisp white shirt with dark brown pumps is a look that would definitely turn heads in or out of the office.

Choose separates because you can wear them in so many ways. Blouses and skirts can be mixed and matched for different looks. Wear a black shirt with a dressy top for a work-related dinner. You can pair it with a crisp white shirt and white sneakers for casual Fridays.

A pop of colorcan make you look fabulous on a gloomy rainy day. A bright color, maybe in the form of a jacket or a blouse, breaks the monotony of an all-black outfit.

Accessories can change the look of an ensemble. Even jeans and a black t-shirt can be office friendly when accessorized properly. A statement necklace or a stack of bangles can make the plainest outfit look polished.

Don’t eschew trendy pieces. A pair of black culottes from Liberté can be office appropriate with a dressy top and wedge heels. Dark colored jeans can look stylish with heels. A Stella sleeveless top can be paired with white trousers for a business casual look.

Stella appeals to women who want classic and versatile prices, which can be easily mixed and matched. Liberté is perfect for young women starting out in the corporate world and are looking for stylish and practical clothes.

Stella and Liberté are only two of the private labels available at Robinsons Department Stores.

Downy, recently hosted a ‘malodor challenge’ by holding a cooking demonstration event with Chef JP Anglo as it introduces its best formulation in fabric softener which helps fight against 10 tough smells on clothes for longer lasting freshness.

Dubbed #DownyBoomBoomPow, the campaign invites people to identify the tough malodors we face in our daily routines and prove that the newest Downy innovation is the solution to these dilemmas.

Before the event, we were given an apron to wear during the cooking demonstration, which unbeknownst to us were pre-washed with the latest Downy fabric softener.

Chef JP exclusively prepared several everyday Pinoy dishes which emit strong odors, such as Grilled Vietnamese Pork Belly and Sizzling Sinigang Fried Chicken with Batwan Gravy, plus the special dish of Grilled Bangus with Talangka & Burong rapped in Banana Leaves intended to really put Downy to the malodor challenge. After enjoying these delicious dishes, we were asked to inspect our aprons for any tough smells which might have stuck to it such as food smell, sweat and smoke.

To our surprise, the aprons were as fresh and clean as ever - effectively demonstrating the effective malodor removal and freshening benefit of Downy's best ever formula!
In Filipinos’ daily lives, they normally face situations or activities resulting to unnoticed bad odors such as body odor, sweat, food smell, smoke, and vehicle exhaust stuck on their clothes. Downy extensively understands our consumers’ concerns and need for fresh scent on their family’s clothes, so we are really delighted to provide them with the best ever formulation of Downy that can help them fight against malodors on their fabrics,” said Louie Morante, Regional Brand Communications Manager for Procter & Gamble ASEAN.
Apart from creating special menus for this event, Chef JP shared his experiences on unpleasant odors on clothes.

Chef JP said, I work all day in the kitchen and sometimes the exhaust isn’t as effective as I’d like it to be. So naturally I’m exposed to all sorts of smells and more often than not, these smells stick to my clothes all day long. That is why I’ve been on the lookout for something that can help me fight these persistent odors.
(From left to right) Cedric LeGoff, Brand Manager, Downy, P&G; Kelly Misa-Fernandez, Patty Laurel, Chef JP Anglo, Camille Prats, Pia Guanio, Bianca Gonzalez; Louie Morante, Regional Communications Manager, Fabric & Home Care, P&G

We were also entertained by Bianca Gonzalez, who shared her experiences on worrisome odor on clothes and clothing care tips and tricks for long-lasting freshness.

As a mom with an active and busy lifestyle, I encounter a lot of various smells, some of them not so pleasant. The worst part is when they stick to my and my family’s clothes! I try to remove these stubborn odors by using natural remedies like baking powder, but sometimes it needs something more powerful – which is why I always use Downy, the popular TV host said.

In a recent survey on malodors, the top 10 tough malodors on clothes are vehicle exhaust, cigarette smoke, smoke from burning garbage, sweat and body odor, wet socks, kulob, fried fish, barbecue, garlic, and onions. Upping its ante in the market, the newest technology from Downy softener contains the breakthrough Malodor Removal Technology which does not just “mask” malodor with aromatic ingredients, but effectively eliminates tough malodors which stick to clothes completely.. This prevents the odor-causing material from being released again.  The Perfume Micro Capsules, which are spread and embedded on fabric while washing, will help bring back the refreshing fragrance on clothes. Together, the Malodor Removal Technology and the Perfume Micro Capsules harmoniously work to help neutralize all tough smells and create longer lasting fragrant smells on clothes every time the fabrics are rubbed.
This innovative product formulation is also complemented with modern and colorful product packaging for all five Downy fragrances –
Sunrise Fresh (for quick drying, even indoors), Antibac (to keep germs away for the whole family), Garden Bloom (for wonderful floral freshness), Single Rinse (for quick rinsing with less water), and Baby Gentle (for the safety of sensitive baby skin).

Boom boom everyday malodors and power up with freshness with the best ever formula from Downy- now available in supermarkets nationwide.

As a mom, I wish I have more than a pair of hands to do everything I need to do on a daily basis. I won’t deny the fact that there have been times, and I mean several instances by that, when I could really use some help.

Indeed, with today’s modern technology, we can be very efficient, we can multitask, and finish our tasks with ease. Different mobile applications have surfaced in order to help us with our banking needs, shopping, travel reservations, and whole lot more. They have become part of our lifestyle already.
I was really excited when I heard that I will be part of the launch of this new app, which is a breakthrough by three entrepreneur friends Emyl, Part and Miguel. It’s amazing how creative brainstorming can actually make knowledge tangible and beneficial. DirtyJobs.ph is a product of brilliant minds combined together. And it is proudly Filipino! The event was a success. The guests enjoyed the great coffee by Dolce Latte, and yummy sausages courtesy of Fronen.

DirtyJobs.ph is the future when it comes to booking household services. You can now get some assistance with carpentry, electrical repairs, renovations, planning for parties, moving, even cleaning and laundry services with just a few taps on your smartphone. Very convenient, right? DirtyJobs.ph partnered with accredited suppliers in the industry to help us get things done fast and with high quality.

All you need to do when you need DJ’s services is to “book” and “bid”. It works through a bidding system, so what DirtyJobs.ph will do is to find the nearest service provider from your location. The lowest bidder will still get a service provider that suits their budget and need.

You can get more details about this unquestionably helpful Filipino creation by going to DirtyJobs.ph on Facebook

I downloaded the app on my phone the second I had the chance. And I can’t wait to try it!

It’s official: PLETHORA is this year’s Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada.

The group, composed of LJ Herrera (vocals/bass), Aldrin Isaguire (keyboardist), Jesser Pello (drums), and Andrew Isaguire (lead guitarist), won the seal of approval of the judges after their fantastic rendition of Ultimate Barkada Experience with a neoclassical metal and rock, but also a reggae and alternative twist. The group emerged as the top band among the eight finalists at the culminating event held recently at Valkyrie at The Palace in Taguig City.

The Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada Search Grand Face-Off began with an opening number by B-Boys, Season 1’s Champion.
Greenwich kabarkada and MTV VJs Yassi Pressman and Andre Paras took center stage along with Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada Season 2 resident host, Mon Ti. Witnessing the electrifying show was a mix of music moguls, musicians, band supporters, and members of the media.

Civ Fontanilla (Viva Records), Yumi Lacsamana (Viva),
Sheyee (Viva), Armi Millare (Up Dharma Down), and Denise Manahan (JB Music) had the tedious task of judging the eight finalists for the night. At the end of the night, Plethora won the much-coveted title of Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada Search Season 2 Champions. They also received 100,000php and a recording contract with VIVA records.

We’re very happy with the win! We gave our very best starting from day 1, says LJ Herrera on their victory.

ABCG came in second
while Happy Ending came in third.

Bagging more than one title that night, our Ultimate Bandkada Champions, Plethora, also took home the title of Favorite ng Barkada after they successfully earned the most number of votes from the official online poll of the competition.

Greenwich is once again successful in providing a venue where best friends can bond and enjoy awesome music over great food. This ultimate barkada experience is not only evident tonight but throughout the duration of the Search. We are thankful that Greenwich is supporting OPM this way. Music is a great way to foster friendship and this initiative cannot do a better job than it already has. We are happy to be a partner of The Ultimate Bandkada Search for two years now and we look forward to more in the coming years., shares Val S. Del Rosario, Viva Communications, Inc. Vice President for Production and MTV Pinoy Content Head.

Missed out on the fun that went down at the finals of the 2016 Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada Finals?
