They say high school is the happiest moment in your life and I agree with that statement. There were kilig moments, happy, exciting, sad, scary and many more experiences. It’s a scene typically played out during fiestas: People rushing to the streets, drawn to the sound of a marching band. Everyone is smiling, eager to see the “star” of the celebration. But instead of showing the face of a movie celebrity, a beauty queen or a politician, the video reveals an unlikely, yet welcome sight—a new, clean toilet facility.

The “Fiesta” video contributes to the efforts of Domex’s One Million Clean Toilets Movement.

Each unique view translates into a pledge for the advocacy campaign which collects pledges from households to conscientiously maintain their own hygienic bathrooms. For every pledge received, Domex will donate P5 to UNICEF’s sanitation program, towards improving access to basic sanitation in deprived areas around the world, including the Philippines.

Life is very ironic.

Just the other day while I was driving, I was reminiscing about my days at school. Those long days of studying and research, and I could have not done it without the help of my fellow classmates, friends and family. I am always thankful of the support that they have provided me. They were there through thick and thin. I often forget to thank one more person, the person who stands in front of the class, and the one that provides guidance, knowledge and wisdom. The one that is often called, the “enemy”, or the “villain”, for giving us homework on a long weekend, and is hated on a daily basis. Yes, I am talking about teachers. Imagine your life without them. At first you will say, I could’ve survived, but think about it, one way or another, that person that's been standing in front of you have taught you some valuable lesson in life that could not have been found anywhere else. Whether it is in a sense of curriculum or an advice that got you through life. They were there for us.

I then saw a commercial on TV. It was a boy waiting to go to school. Then his mother carried him, which I thought was just to give him a hug, but it was to pass him to a, I thought was a, stranger. It turns out, that it was his teachers. The commercial then finished off as the boy growing up to be a doctor. It was very touching.

Being a teacher is a thankless job and the salary is not that great, but they do it because they care about the future of this country. I know I wouldn't be here without their guidance.

Looking back at the PLDT Gabay Guro Grand Gathering held last October 5 wherein they paid tribute to teachers by giving fun, entertainment concert and lots of amazing prizes.

The most interesting and much awaited prize of the event was the PLDT KaAsenso Cyberya. During the spectacular celebration they raffled off 10 PLDT KaAsenso Cyberya Internet Café setup to all teachers who attended the event and to 10 public schools as a livelihood opportunity that need broadband connection, not just providing the broadband connection, but a complete package already.

I think this is really a great opportunity if you want to earn more money, I personally would want to venture on a business opportunity like this and as a blogger, having a reliable internet connection is a very important tool in fulfilling my everyday passion. It is also essential for connecting with our families and friends online. Having a Cyberya can also be important to many students nowadays especially when they need to do research for homework and projects and for teachers to help them improve their teaching skills.
