Japanese Haircut and Treatment at Akira Hair & Make-Up Salon!

Besides getting fitter, one of my resolutions for 2016 was to take good care of my hair. Over the past few years, I've been constantly abusing my hair with chemical treatments such as bleaching, coloring and even rebonding to the point where it has become very damaged, I usually don't think too much about it but dealing with hair tangles is starting to become a drag so I decided that it was about time to get a much needed hair treatment and long overdue haircut at a Japanese hair salon in Makati.

I've always wanted to go to a Japanese hair salon because they are known for having top notch hairstylists. This was my first time to visit Akira Hair & Makeup Salon and definitely not my last.
Akira Hair & Makeup salon is a hidden jewel. It is a  small place that can only accommodate one customer at a time because Akira works alone. He doesn't have any assistant or other stylist which is why booking an appointment is highly recommended. Akira can speak both Japanese and Tagalog. He was very sweet and professional. We had a great conversation while he was working on my hair.
First I had my hair treatment that he mixed with this matcha (powdered tea).
The treatment is supposed to make your hair smooth and shiny. It also soothes dandruff, psoriasis, and other scalp irritations naturally. It's the best and inexpensive natural product to get longer and stronger hair.

I like how he used this special vibrating comb that he bought in Japan to effectively apply the treatment.

Then he put this professional conditioning heat cap for 30 minutes for deep penetrating hair and scalp treatments. Rinse.
To be honest, I don't really like having a hair cut because I like my hair long and was always afraid that the stylist will chop it all off but for the first time I was pretty excited about getting my haircut and experience the Japanese great hair cutting techniques.
He cut my hair while it was wet
then used hair dryer, straightener and layered my hair. My head felt lighter after the cut since Akira did a lot of layering.
My layered haircut came out amazing! He did my hair exactly as the photo I showed to him and he also gave me some advice on how to take of the style afterwards.

Overall, the haircut I got with Akira is definitely the best I've gotten so far! Give Akira a try, you will definitely get the best Japanese hairstylist experience at an affordable price and without having to pay a plane ticket to Japan!
