Throwback Thursday: When I shop, the world gets better. ♥

hashtag #throwbackthursday

"You know that thing when you see someone cute and he smiles and your heart kind of goes like warm butter sliding down hot toast? Well that's what it's like when I see a store. Only it's better."

"When I shop, the world gets better, and the world is better, but then it's not, and I need to do it again."

-Rebecca Bloomwood

Wait, I think that quote is from me, I can so totally relate to Confessions of a Shopaholic Movie.

"I know I've made some mistakes, but I"m turning my life around."

If you been following me before and remember my flickr days? http://www.flickr.com/photos/rochellekawasaki

Hello I am Rochelle and I once was a SHOPAHOLIC, photos are my collection, back when we were still in the States
and Yes I love to brag and my place once look like a store, all the things in the photo are once mine ♥ Now do not judge me nor envy because I am not really proud of it!

When we moved back to the Philippines, I brought almost all my stuffs but I had to sell so much stuffs because in the first place I keep asking myself where do I put all my stuffs now? Do I really need it. But then I kept buying then selling, I admit I was sick and needed help and because I was sad and lonely that shopping has been my happiness.

I know it is not acceptable to blame someone on why you became like that and DON'T allow your wounds to turn you into a person you are NOT. I will not go into details on the painful hurting that I had to go through.

I sometimes still love going shopping because girls are really born to shop, material things always makes us happy and superficial and whatever because ever noticed how some days, when you're feeling down, you go out and buy something, as a kind of reward or present to yourself. And that feeling down can be anger with life in general but then I just regret on why I became a shopaholic and bought so much stuffs that I do not need with money I don't have to impress people I don't like. I sometimes think that with all that stuffs that I felt like I just throw away, that money can be used now to get surgery for my nasal polyps or money to prepare my children to college or buy them what they need.

If I have a remote control, I would love to rewind and make myself wiser and a better person that no regrets should ever be felt now, but then again that things are in the past we can always change and make ourselves the best person we can be. I admit I still love to go shopping once in a while but now there are days when I will go to the mall and prefer eating or just taking my kids for some fun out, not to buy things I do not need anymore, I can say I learned my lesson well.

Tell me what you think? I would love to hear your comments and suggestions.

THANKS, Much Love, Rochelle

  1. Hi Sis! It's so nice to see your kikay collection- very organized I must say and if I may say I am so inspired by how it was organized- I should do it as well with the accessories. I guess at one point in a girl's life there's this point of pa impress to other people, I went that stage too but not too long specially when I turned 30ish I am at that point that it is longer necessary because there are other priorities. I enjoyed reading your blog posts - cam across you at IG (I followed you there-mommyofweegee) and inspired also by your post to write more blog post on my end :) Do visit mine too if you have the time and will frequent here too. I love the kikayness in you too I can so much relate :) Cheers!

    Good day,

    1. Thank you Marsha, I know ang sarap kase mag shopping pero dapat may ibang unahin na talaga tayo priorities rather buying things we do not really need. Ang sarap lang kase nakikita di ba kahit di naman naten kailangan. May temporary happiness sya sa tao but then at some point hindi din tama gumastos ng gumastos. Anyway Thank you again!

  3. Hi Rochelle! Thank you for dropping by on my blog. I'm enjoying your blog too most especially this post. I love how organize you are. I love organizing things and I love everything cute and pretty. You're right. What I do, whenever I get like paid for a work, most especially if it's something like a big project, I always but something for myself as a reward of accomplishing something but I always make sure that what I buy is what I need. I'm a practical shopper because I live independently and I really have to budget my earnings wisely. I think you just have to make something like a diary or a list of your priorities and budget list then when you have extra from your budget, then you can buy something for yourself or even put it to your savings :) Just my suggestions since that's what I do :) More power to your blog. I hope to meet you in person someday :)

  4. Wow! I love how you organize your things, especially your earrings holder, where did you buy it and how much? I'd been big spender when it comes with shopping, I indeed bought things that I don't really need until one day. I realized that I didn't even save a penny. Shopping is just a temporary happiness, but at least I learned my lesson.
I am hoping to see more organizing tips<3 And how you take care of your collections,

    Loving it!

  5. nice... my daughter and I loves headbands. nice way to keep..I usually just put them all in a box...but this one is way even better.
I too get too impulsive in buying things especially when they are on sale. AS of now, I do keep away from malls when they are having a massive sale because I cant seem to resist the temptation.
As of now, I got a very messy bodega full of stuffs and I am currently on the project of disposing them soon before we transfer to our new home. Wouldn't want them to clutter up the new house :)
