Learn to live a worry-free sweet life!

Last July 6, I had a lovely afternoon at the Sweet Surrender Seminar-Workshop held at the Garden Room of Marriott Manila
It was presented by A-List Professional Health Consulting Co.

Founded by a group of registered nutritionist-dietitians- Ms. Cheshire Que, CEO of A-List, USA Registered Dietitian and Registered Nurse (RND, RD, RD) and together with Program Director of A-List Ms. Solita Sayco, RND and Admin Director of A-List Ms. Genevieve Dayrit, RND to pursue excellence and share their knowledge, skills and experience to help make a healthier nation. These women met 17 years ago at the University of the Philippines Diliman and share the same vision to be the leading provider of trainings, seminars, and workshops specializing in food, nutrition, health and wellness that caters to a dynamic group of professionals, employees, and students in the Philippines and abroad.

Ever wonder what a diabetic needs to eat to stay healthy and feel good?

Lucky for us, we got three beautiful expert’s advice at The Sweet Surrender Diabetes Workshop  and it was divided into three parts:

FIRST PART  Sugar and Me presented by Ms. Cheshire Que which was about why we need sugar and understanding Layman's terms on how sugar is being used up by our body and how the food and our stored fats actually affect our health in general.

SECOND PART  Carbs, Calories and Me an interactive workshop with Ms. Solita Sayco.

We had a Calorie Counting Workshop in which we were grouped into teams and each given an example meal to calculate the calories.

We got the Meal C consists of 1 serving steamed fish, 1 serving steamed sauteed vegetable, 1 small apple, 1/2 cup steamed rice and 1 glass of water.

Learning how many calories in various foods can really help in losing or maintaining your weight. Many people have had success in losing weight by learning how many calories are in the foods they are eating.

THIRD PART  Recipe Modification and Sweet Solution: Sugar Substitutes presented by Ms. Genevieve Dayrit. She taught us how to cook healthy and delicious meals. It was about adding flavor without salt or fat and to consider the right food choices.
Ms. Dayrit talked about Sugar Substitutes as good alternative for diabetics because it can control blood sugar levels, prevent dental caries, reduce caloric intake for weight management, safe for diabetics to satisfy sweet craving, and provide more ways to curb cravings.
We indulge in an afternoon tea and flavorful cuisine.
I love the hot black stones style of cooking, it was natural, healthy and tasty way to cook shrimp and steak.
Shots of cardamom infused chocolate mousse, and red berry dressing.

This guilt-free mousse is a fluffy bundle of joy. It is so yummy that you wont realize you are eating a dessert. Such healthy desserts are always delightful- aren't they? You bet.

It was a really enlightening afternoon! I'm so glad I went and was able to take home a certificate of attendance  and a wonderful learning experience.

Thank you so much Ms. Cheshire, Solita and Genevieve of A-List Professional Health Consulting Co. and Ms. Vannah for inviting me

God Bless and Stay Healthy!
