New batch of exemplary Filipino families honored at the 5th Jollibee Family Values Awards

Jollibee gave due recognition and honor to exemplary Filipino families at the Jollibee Family Values Awards (JFVA) Gabi ng Parangal Para sa Pamilyang Pilipino

The event, which celebrated the 5th milestone year of the campaign, was held at the Philippine International Convention Center.

Here are the highlights of what happened to the 5th Jollibee Family Values Awards:

Jollibee ambassador Sarah Geronimo serenaded the attendees with her performance of the 5th JFVA theme song, Pamilyang Pilipino

Asia’s Song Bird, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, was among the all-star performers at the Gabi ng Parangal para sa Pamilyang Pilipino.

The Voice Kids Season 1 top three finalists (from left) JK, Lyca, and Darlene performed one of Jollibee’s most iconic jingles, I Love You Sabado.

Gawad Kalinga founder and chairman, Antonio “Tony” Meloto commended Jollibee for promoting family values as they are essential for nation-building. “I believe that this is one of the most important recognitions, when we highlight the foundation of a strong nation that we’ve built with strong family values, strong community values, and strong values as a nation,” Meloto said during his keynote speech.

Advocacies—ranging from uniting and protecting the rights of ethnic tribes, to creating dialogue for peace between religions, and empowering persons with disability (PWDs)—were showcased, highlighting the winning families’ selflessness to help their fellowmen and communities.

Six families, among hundreds from all over the nation—Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao as well as the United States—that continue to live out the very values that distinguish Filipinos from the rest of the world, were recognized.

The six top winning families each received a cash prize of P300,000, a trophy designed by renowned sculptor Michael Cacnio, and P10,000 worth of Jollibee gift certificates

The special citation recipients each took home P50,000 cash, a plaque, and P5,000 worth of Jollibee gift certificates.

The top six exemplary families for 2015 were

1. Mr. Carlito and Mrs. Iril Domulot and family of Botolan, Zambales (solidifying unity of Aeta tribes)

  1. Let's all give a round of applause to all the Exemplary Filipino FAMILIES awarded by Jollibee. I know that they all deserve those awards and I give my due RESPECT to all of them. It is really hard to become a model Filipino citizen, how much more if you will involve your whole family in your goal of helping your fellow men. It takes a lot of time, effort, patience and determination to build a good reputation and to lend your helping hands to reach those who are in need. So I understand that these families really did and always give their best to share what they have to other people and to achieve their selfless goals. :-) I also extend my appreciation to Jollibee for honoring them and giving them RECOGNITION. :-)
