Namaste- he gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra. The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another. Nama means bow, as means I, and te means you. Therefore, namaste literally means "bow me you" or "I bow to you."

To perform Namaste, we place the hands together at the heart charka, close the eyes, and bow the head. It can also be done by placing the hands together in front of the third eye, bowing the head, and then bringing the hands down to the heart. This is an especially deep form of respect. Although in the West the word "namaste" is usually spoken in conjunction with the gesture, in India, it is understood that the gesture itself signifies Namaste, and therefore, it is unnecessary to say the word while bowing.
Before we went to the event when I told my kids that they will be doing Yoga that they don't know what it was, they kept asking me what it was and what they are going to do in Yoga.
What is Yoga? Yoga in Sanskrit stands for connection, union. Yoga helps us to unite against physical, mental and social problems.

I could list hundreds of benefits, but here are my favorite ten reasons why yoga is awesome for kids.
1. Maintains Flexibility and Strengthens Growing Bodies
2. Enhances Concentration
3. Increases Self Esteem
4. Teaches Present Moment Awareness
5. Cultivates a Peaceful, Relaxed State of Body and Mind
6. Gives Tools for Stress Management
7. Sparks Creativity in Ripe Imaginations
8. Encourages Kind Peer and Social Interactions
9. Enhances Body Awareness
10. Teaches Discipline and Responsibility

These are just ten of the many amazing benefits that kids reap from doing yoga.
